Supply Chain

AvWorks Aviation announced it is in negotiations to purchase an inventory of hydraulic flight control components from a major U.S. OEM to service mid-generation 737's including the -300, -400 and -500 models.

AeroTurbine signed an exclusive 10-year Supply Chain Agreement with Pluna Airlines covering its fleet of CRJ900 aircraft. AeroTurbine will provide material support for an initial 13 CRJ900s.

Lufthansa Technik Milan has renewed its strategic partnership with the operator of Malpensa Airport (MXP), SEA. It supplies aircraft maintenance services on short- and long-haul aircraft, and delivers technical support services from line up to base maintenance for multiple carriers based in or operating through MXP.

Goodrich Corporation recorded $237.9 million net income on $2.15 billion sales in the 2011 fourth quarter, up over the prior year results of $148.3 million net income on $1.81 billion sales in the fourth quarter of 2010. Its full year results reached $810.4 million net income on $8.07 billion sales, versus $578.7 million on $6.97 billion in 2010.

A J Walter Aviation developed its Quality Management System and gained approval to the International Aerospace Quality Group’s (IAQG) revision AS9120:2009 to the AS9100 standard series. AJW said it completed the transition project to the new standards within 5 months.

PPG Industries announced its Desoprime CF/CA 7502 primer was selected by Boeing as standard for Boeing Next-Generation 737 production aircraft. It "is the only chromate-free primer on Boeing’s qualified product list for its BMS 10-72 (Revision Y) Exterior Decorative Paint specification," PPG said.

EPCOR, a subsidiary of AFI KLM E&M has named Romain Helmer as Managing Director. Helmer formerly served as head of KLM E&M’s 737 Maintenance unit.

The General Aviation Awards Committee announced it has formed General Aviation Awards LLC. The seven member board of directors includes; JoAnn Hill, president of Master Instructors LLC (MI LLC), as national chairman; John Teipen as vice-chairman; Mike Gaffney as secretary; Paul New as treasurer; and Sandy Hill of MI LLC as chair of the Communications/Marketing Committee. Advocates for Aviation Safety Foundation (AFASF) executive director Paul Burger will chair the Fund Raising Committee; Kate Fraser, manager of operations for General Aviation Manufacturers Association, will join the Fund Raising Committee; and Kevin Clover, AFS 850, will serve as the FAA liaison to the Board.
