Turkish Technic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines (TK), will open the first phase of its new MRO center at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (SAW) in early summer. [MORE]


A J Walter Aviation was selected by GMF AeroAsia to provide integrated consumables management, supporting its maintenance program for 737NG aircraft. AJW will position a spares consignment with GMF in Jakarta.

Taikoo (Xiamen) Landing Gear Services Co. (TALSCO) signed a contract with China Airlines for the overhaul of 17 ship sets of Boeing 747-400 landing gears. TALSCO will provide technical support, including rotable assets supply, on-gear installation, AOG support, configuration analysis, fleet analysis, and sampling inspection for the entire fleet of Boeing 747-400s. Induction of the landing gears is slated for 2013-2015.

Fokker Services has signed an agreement with ATR covering airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul services of ATR aircraft in South East Asia. MRO services will take place at the Fokker Services facilities in Singapore.

SR Technics won a 10-year exclusive engine maintenance services agreement with Indian carrier SpiceJet. SR Technics will provide maintenance services for CFM56-7B engines installed on its fleet of 737-800 and 737-900ER aircraft as well as spare engine support to cover scheduled and unscheduled removals and engine condition monitoring. The contract is valued at up to US$415 million over 10 years


BAE Systems and West Atlantic Airlines have signed a three-year support contract covering a total of 44 ATP regional turboprop aircraft with technical support services and spares support program.

Turkish Technic signed a heavy maintenance contract with Saudi Aramco covering base maintenance C checks on Boeing 737-700s, including livery painting. Work will be carried out at Turkish Technic's facilities at Istanbul, Turkey.

Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) opened a $30 million Airbus A380 hangar in Manila. The new 8,500 sq. m. facility accommodates one wide and two narrowbody aircraft at one time. LTP now offers three widebody hangars and will increase its workforce to 2,700.

Boeing announced it is extending its GoldCare maintenance, engineering and material management service for its Boeing 747-400 freighters. The GoldCare aftermarket support program initially was only available on the 787 and was extended to include 737 NextGens in March 2011.

John Holland Aviation Services was appointed by Embraer Commercial Aviation as an Embraer Authorized Service Center to provide line and heavy maintenance services for the E-jets family in Melbourne.

FL Technics Jets was selected by The Federal Air Transportation Agency of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to provide maintenance services for Russian Federation registered aircraft.

TAP M&E Brazil has completed the first C1/C2 checks performed on an Air Transat Airbus A330-200, and has delivered the aircraft to the carrier.

ST Aerospace and EADS EFW signed a memorandum of understanding for a strategic partnership to develop the Airbus A330 passenger-to-freighter conversion program.

Component Control has been approved by the Aeronautical Repair Station Assn. (ARSA) as the exclusive preferred provider of MRO and logistics software solutions.
