Deals

Lantal Textiles AG was selected by Brussels Airlines to supply its Pneumatic Comfort System PCS for its new long-haul business class seats. The carrier is overhauling its seven Airbus A330s, with new lie-flat business class seats from Thompson Aero Seating. The first PCS-equipped A330 is scheduled for delivery in Spring 2012.

Sabena technics is conducting C checks, modifications and structural repairs on two Afriqiyah Airways A330s, at the Sabena technics Bordeaux facilities.

CSA Technics is performing C-checks and repainting on two Syphax Airlines A319 aircraft, on lease from Doric Asset Finance.

New Business

AFI KLM E&M won a contract from new customer SriLankan Airlines covering A340 and A330 component support.

Turkish Technic is looking beyond its borders for MRO joint ventures as its new state-of-the-art MRO facility in Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen nears opening this summer. GM Ismail Demir told ATW in Istanbul that discussions with potential MRO providers are ongoing in areas including Eastern Europe and Russia.

Pemco World Air Services has voluntarily filed Chapter 11 to facilitate its restructuring. The company said it "expects to quickly restructure and emerge as a stronger and more viable business," and expects to emerge from bankruptcy within the next 90 days.

PPG Industries announced its aerospace transparencies group has created kits for repairing commercial aircraft windshield moisture seals on "various commercial aircraft."

CPI Aerostructures reported full year revenue of $74.14 million in 2011, up 68.5% over the prior year's revenue of $43.99 million. Net income reached $7.42 million, compared to $542k in 2010. Revenue generated from commercial contracts increased by 35% to approximately $10.2 million.

Commsoft’s OASES maintenance management software has been selected by European airline group OLT, following its recent mergers with Polish carriers Yes Airways and Jet Air.

Russian MRO holding company Engineering LLC has agreed to acquire Bend, Ore.-based Epic Aircraft. Epic Aircraft CEO Douglas King will retain his position. Engineering LLC specializes in line and base maintenance and C-Checks for Airbus, Boeing, ATR and Bombardier type aircraft.
