are near them.

LA Fitness,
Irvine, CA, opened a new club last week in the Chicago suburb of
Broadview, IL. The 50,000-square-foot facility in the Broadview Village
Square is in the building formerly occupied by Target. A grand opening
party is scheduled for Oct. 16.
Anytime Fitness,
Hastings, MN, has signed an area development agreement with Wayzata
Poland, a subsidiary of Wayzata Capital, to operate clubs in Poland.
Membership fees at the Polish clubs are expected to be in the $30- to
$40-per-month range. Anytime Fitness previously
announced plans to open clubs in the United Kingdom and Ireland,
Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Japan.

solely on physical fitness. Created by screenwriter Gregg Lichtenstein,

iGo Figure, Houston,
announced that the iGo Figure Membership and Business Management
Software is now available in Mandarin and simplified Chinese. “We saw
the growth of the Chinese fitness market and started receiving more
requests to translate our software to Chinese,” iGo Figure CEO Kyle
Zagrodzky says. “With the iGo Figure Software already available in 14
other languages, it only made sense to also make it available to the
fastest growing economy in the world.”
The American Council on Exercise
(ACE), San Diego, has named Janet Frenkel its executive vice
president of sales and marketing, a newly created position. Frenkel
brings more than 10 years of experience in the health care industry to
the role, in which she will be responsible for developing and executing
business strategies that will maximize ACE’s sales and marketing
opportunities. Frenkel had served as CEO and founder of The Frenkel
Group Inc., a management consulting firm focused on the health care
sector.
