Plus One Health Management Inc., New York, has hired Lisa Fierstein as its new chief financial officer and promoted John Holding to senior vice president of operations. Fierstein has 20 years of experience in finance, most recently with the New Meadowlands Stadium Co. Holding, who joined Plus One in 2009 with the acquisition of TimeOut Services, will assume management responsibility for the company's regional account management team and all of Plus One's site and program operations.
The Naples (FL) Fitness Center closed last Friday after 32 years of operation. Memberships have been transferred to nearby Lifestyle Family Fitness. "In the past 32 years, Naples Fitness Center has touched many lives," read a statement on the club's website. "It has truly been our privilege to have been able to positively impact the lives of so many people."
Louisville Athletic Club has expanded to five clubs in the Louisville, KY, area after acquiring two Ideal Fitness locations, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. Remodeling of one of the acquired clubs is scheduled to begin by the end of November, the newspaper reports.
A woman is suing the Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center in Coeur D'Alene, ID, for more than $10,000 in damages, according to local media reports. Sheri Stone says she suffered "grievous and permanent injuries" and emotional distress after she was accidentally tripped by a Kroc Center employee in the facility's games room. Stone and her husband and co-plaintiff, Gene Stone, also are suing the Salvation Army and the Kroc Center employee, who has not been named.

ASF International, Denver, has launched a new website that showcases ASF employees through staff spotlights. "While our former website did a great job of explaining our services to the industry, we feel like visitors to our new site will truly get to see who we are as a company," explains Tamara Valdez, executive vice president of marketing at ASF. "When prospective clients ask us, 'What sets you apart from other billing and software companies?', we are always quick to answer, 'Our people.'" The site also features a blog module written by veteran ASF team members on topics such as marketing, software tips and tricks and best practices for billing and operations.
Dur-A-Flex Inc., East Hartford, CT, has named Patrick J. Meade as vice president, sales and technical support. Meade is the former director of sales for Lutron Inc. and director, business development group, for Stonhard Inc. Mead says he will focus on specific end user markets, increase technical support, and improve process efficiency and team building. In addition to the sales and architectural consulting channels, Meade is responsible for technical service and strategic accounts at Dur-A-Flex.
GoFigure, Houston, has partnered with UK-based payment processing organization Harlands Group to implement the European Union (EU) Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA) standards into the company's iGoFigure membership and business management software. The company says this will allow users throughout the EU to process one-time and monthly payments electronically from the iGoFigure Software, eliminating the need for bank visits and a lot of manual processes.
Nutra-C M&D, Laurel, MD, has introduced Cartigel, a new supplement made to support health joint function. Cartigel combines bioactive collagen hydrolysate, glucosamine and curcumin, which its manufacturers say help alleviate joint pain and regenerate cartilage. Cartigel is available for wholesale purchase for resale in health club pro shops.
