nutrition program. Owners Eugene Russo and David and Kristen Oddie are
local to the area and plan to open more Crunch franchise clubs in the
future.

Hour Fitness, San Ramon, CA, has entered into a partnership with USA
Water Polo. As part of the agreement, 24 Hour will provide discounted
memberships to the USA Water Polo men’s and women’s senior national
team members to support their training for the 2011 FINA World
Championships in Shanghai, China.
Curves
International, Waco, TX, is partnering with dance-fitness program
Zumba Fitness, Hollywood, FL, to offer a 30-minute class called Curves
Circuit with Zumba Fitness. Participants will work out on each Curves
strength machine for one minute and do Zumba moves with a certified
instructor for one minute in between each machine. During the
introductory period, Curves is offering the classes free for one week to
both members and nonmembers.

Life Fitness, Schiller Park, IL, has appointed Dan Wille
as its vice president of global marketing and brand management. Wille,
who has been with the company for 16 years, returns to Life Fitness
corporate headquarters from the United Kingdom, where he served as
country manager since July 2008. Murray Rudkin succeeds Wille as country
manager of the U.K. Rudkin, who has been with Life Fitness for 10 years,
was most recently the company’s director of the U.K. sales
unit.
LA
Fitness, Irvine, CA, says the use of Cintas ReviveR automated
external defibrillators (AEDs) in LA Fitness clubs has helped save more
than 50 lives. Cintas Corp. has begun the Cintas ReviveR Survivor
Program, an initiative that honors responders who demonstrate
life-saving emergency skills using the ReviveR. Cintas’ AEDs have
saved more than 160 lives to date, according to the company.
Greg Maurer has joined New Paradigm Partners as an associate
partner. Maurer invented the Training Camp Slide, to which he eventually
sold the rights. He later developed a proprietary weight management
program used in 12 centers and managed a team of 15
trainers/instructors. He was the general manager of Hockessin Athletic
Club, Hockessin, DE, and held similar positions at the Pike Creek
Fitness Club, Wilmington, DE, and the Tilton Fitness Club, Mays Landing,
NJ.
Fundamental Fitness Products has appointed Brent Metzger as
president. Metzger has served the club industry in a variety of roles,
including fitness director, training director, and membership and
marketing director for YMCAs and for-profit facilities in Pennsylvania
and Colorado. Fundamental Fitness Products is an Internet-based
manufacturer and retailer of more than 1,500 commercial-grade fitness
products and is a preferred vendor for Anytime
Fitness.
