Fitness Fee Increases at Penn State
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA -- Students at Penn State University will be paying more to work out this year. Mississippi Tops Scales in Obesity Study
WASHINGTON -- Although health clubs and state governments have made a push to get Americans healthier, not a single state's rate of adult obesity decreased in 2006. In fact, obesity rates rose in 31 states last year, and Mississippi became the first state in history with an adult obesity rate of more than 30 percent, according to a recent study. INDIANAPOLIS -- Healthy adults ages 18 to 65 need moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity for at least 30 minutes five days each week or vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity for at least 20 minutes three days each week, according to updated physical activity guidelines released earlier this month by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Heart Association (AHA).
