24 Hour Exec as COO
DALLAS -- Mike Feinman has changed addresses in the health club
industry but not his personal address. On Wednesday, Gold's Gym
International (GGI), Dallas, announced it has hired Feinman to serve as
its chief operating officer. Feinman resigned from 24 Hour Fitness, San

Growth in Third Quarter
BOSTON -- For 18 mid-size club companies, the third quarter of 2007
was a time of financial growth, according to a survey of health and
sports club companies conducted by Industry Insights for the
International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA). The
companies collectively grew their revenue an average of 18.1 percent to
$16.6 million in revenue for the third quarter. Read the full story.

Collects Items for Overseas Troops
RED BANK, NJ -- The YMCA Family Health and Fitness Center in Red
Bank, NJ, is collecting donations for U.S. military men and women
stationed oversees, according to the Asbury Park Press.
Until Feb. 14, the Y will accept donations such as popcorn, tea bags,
books, medical items, eye drops, snack foods, socks, protein bars,
playing cards, magazines, gloves and tissues. The Community YMCA's
Leaders Club is heading up the collection to make care packages for the
troops. The club is comprised of students from grades nine through 12.
Along with the drive at the Y, the students are collecting items in
their neighborhoods and encouraging local businesses to donate.

Army MWR Chief Leaves
Post, Takes New Job at Fort Bragg

aquatics for the Army's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation

Matrix Fitness
Systems' U.S. sales for the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31, 2007,
increased by 120 percent over the corresponding 2006 period, and
worldwide sales grew by 62 percent for the same time frame. Overall,
Matrix's 2007 domestic sales increased 102 percent, and global sales
grew by 58 percent. This marks the third consecutive year that Matrix
has attained triple-digit percentage growth in U.S. sales.
Retention
Management, Charlotte, NC, had a 70 percent sales growth in 2007,
the company announced this week. In 2007, Retention Management added 265
new clubs, increasing the total number of clubs using its technology to
545. In 2006, the company had added 164 new clubs. The company is also
expanding into the United Kingdom.
In 2007, Precor booked its sixth
consecutive year of record-setting revenues, generating a 17 percent
increase in sales to $411 million. The revenue growth represents
double-digit increases in every aspect of the Woodinville, WA-based
company's business, including North American commercial and consumer
divisions, and an international division anchored by commercial business
in Europe.
