Navy Rescue Swimmers Train for
Emergencies
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The Rescue Swimmer School (RSS) at Naval Air
Station Jacksonville prepares sailors from around the world to be able
to swim for an extended period of time and to save a survivor. RSS
teaches three courses, including a four-week course for surface
(ship-borne) swimmers that teaches basic lifesaving procedures and how
to use lifesaving equipment.
Each Navy ship is required to have two qualified rescue swimmers on
board before it can pull away from the pier, so graduates are considered
“mission essential.” Rescue swimmers must be CPR-current, able to
evaluate victims and able to provide first aid treatment. Students must
also perform a rescue of an individual in the water who is entangled
with parachutes and other aviation gear.

that the facility had been aging and that several members switched to a
nearby Planet Fitness.
Citing a need to improve financial and operating performance, TRT
Holdings, the largest shareholder of Gaylord Entertainment Co. and owner
of Gold's Gym International, announced plans to nominate four new
members to Gaylord Entertainment’s board of directors, according to an
open letter released to the company's investors on Jan. 15. TRT Holdings
owns nearly 15 percent of Gaylord Entertainment shares. TRT also wants
to immediately separate the role of chairman and chief executive at
Gaylord.
Gold's Gym North in Tucson, AZ, held a re-grand opening celebration
last week. This facility added 4,000 more feet of floor space as well as
an indoor/outdoor child care playground area. The club also says it is
the only fitness facility in the country with two cardio cinemas.

Sunrise, FL. Rick Bouza, Fitness 21 managing partner and president of
consulting company RHB Solutions Inc., recently renovated the
