Software?
Ask Michael Scott Scudder, Club Management Expert

In Brief...
The new Gold’s Gym in Tooele, UT, became the chain’s first
franchise to achieve $1 million in sales during its first month of
business. The Tooele location set the company’s single month sales
record for new membership revenue in January 2009. Mary Littlebrant,
vice president of sales and marketing for Gold’s Gym of Utah, led the
gym’s four-person sales team.
The Carmel (NY) Fitness and Racquet Club, which had been in business
for 32 years, recently closed its doors. The club’s founder, Nick
Dagnone, transferred the club operation in March 2008 to Judy Terlizzi
through an agreement in which she would rent the facility for $25,000 a
month with an option to purchase, according to The Journal News
of White Plains, NY. Dagnone told the newspaper he had not been paid
rent since September and sued Terlizzi in state Supreme Court. There was
no indication when or if the club would reopen.
