NEW YORK -- Court documents were filed Monday detailing a bankruptcy
judge’s approval of the sale of Crunch, New York, to CH Fitness, which

affiliates of the private equity firm Angelo, Gordon & Co. The sale is

The JCC of
Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale, NY, recently signed a $1.5 million
agreement to purchase clean energy via a 75 kW combined heat and power
system. The JCC will receive a significant amount of its energy from the
cogeneration system, which will be owned and operated by American DG
Energy. The JCC said it plans to use the expected annual energy savings
to help support various programs, such as the JCC Maccabi Games of
athletic events, which it is hosting this year.
Kurt Broadhag, president of K Allan Consulting and
member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), recently
passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) AP
Certification, making his company one of the first LEED-accredited
design firms in the fitness industry. Broadhag says that this
certification allows his company to consult with facility owners seeking
LEED certification or, on a smaller scale, those merely wishing to adopt
green practices set forth by the USGBC.
Ralph Yohe will become interim CEO for the Melrose YMCA in Melrose, MA, on
Oct. 5. Yohe is the outgoing president of the South Shore YMCA, from
which he is retiring after 23 years. He told local media that he expects
to be the interim CEO for three to six months. The Melrose Y has been
immersed in a scandal
involving a former Y after-school program coordinator who was accused on
multiple child rape counts.

preferred vendor of the 300-location franchise. The fans are used to
increase air circulation, reduce energy costs and enhance member comfort

Advantage Fitness Products
(AFP) entered a strategic partnership with Atlas Fitness Systems to
make Atlas the official logistics and distribution firm for AFP. The
agreement was designed to extend AFP’s installation capabilities and
enhance its distribution efficiencies nationwide. As part of the
agreement, Atlas will absorb AFP warehouse, delivery and installation
personnel. AFP also will extend its inventory management, staging and
distribution base from six warehouse facilities to 14 nationwide. AFP
also said it will further integrate its established technical service
division and client support programs within the expanded Atlas
facilities.
