Life Fitness had an 11 percent increase in net sales in
fourth quarter 2010 and a 9 percent increase in net sales in 2010,
compared to the same periods a year ago, according to financials
released by Brunswick Corp., Lake Forest, IL.

Anytime
Fitness released its “Weight of the Union” report, which
examined the fitness and nutritional habits of its members. The study
found that financial incentives were a significant motivating factor in
recurring gym visits. Anytime Fitness members received nearly $3 million
in reimbursements from their insurance companies for working out 12

Technogym has introduced mywellnesskey, a portable device
that measures a person’s physical activity to help motivate them.
Using the product, club staff can follow clients and motivate them
outside the gym through the assignment of a daily activity target,
according to Technogym. Inside the club, mywellnesskey allows clients to
activate the Technogym machines on their personal training program and
save the results that will contribute to achieving their daily target.
mywellnesskey also is fitted with a USB support to upload the lifestyle
data on www.mywellness.com.
