Lifestyle Family Fitness will begin its annual Teen Initiative on May 15. Last year, Lifestyle Family Fitness donated 11,000 health club memberships to teens at its 55 locations. Teens will be able to use the free memberships all day on weekends and until 4 p.m. on weekdays through Aug. 15.
Memberships to the newly opened Salvation Army Kroc Center in Augusta, GA, went on sale Monday. The community center’s grand opening is scheduled for early August. The facility will feature a fitness center with strength and cardio equipment, an indoor leisure pool with water slide and lap lanes, group exercise studio and a full-sized gymnasium.

Retention Management, Cornelius, NC, is now serving clubs in Scandinavia. Clubs in Sweden and Norway will join the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand in using the custom e-mail generating service. “This is a natural progression for us, and I am looking forward to the fresh opportunities these markets present,” says Jon Nasta, U.K. managing director.
Cybex International Inc., Medway, MA, is partnering with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, to launch a body shop fitness facility. Cybex donated $120,000 worth of exercise equipment to be used by the university for research projects on exercise, fitness and wellness. Students, faculty and staff will also use the center for recreation.
