  • RetroFitness, Colts Neck, NJ, held its third annual national conference for more than 150 franchise owners, vendor partners and the company's corporate executives last week in Atlantic City, NJ. "It was great to have everyone share best business practices they have implemented locally to stand out against the competition," Eric Casaburi, the company's founder and CEO, said. "It was a high-energy event that produced new ideas on what we need to do to remain a leading fitness concept. The takeaways were unbelievable, and we look forward to another big year of growth for RetroFitness."
  • The Salvation Army celebrated the grand opening of its $115 million Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Boston last week. The Boston Kroc Center's fitness facilities include a gymnasium with two basketball courts and a ropes course, an aquatic center with zero-entry recreation pool, water play features and lap lanes, a cardio loft and group fitness classroom. In addition to fitness training, the center will also offer obesity prevention and nutrition education.
