Running (Literally) to Failure
By Scott Arnold, Executive Editor
|
|
I am a runner and, quite possibly, a fool (and no, not merely
because I am a runner). One morning in mid-June, I was running near my
home when I felt a twinge in my right knee. With only about a half-mile
to go, I decided to continue running. Once I arrived home, the pain
stopped, and I did not give it another thought.

DOE Announces $15 Million to Promote
Geothermal Technologies
|
|
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Geothermal Technologies
Program has announced a $15 million funding opportunity to research and
develop innovative methods to extract heat from geothermal resources
from the earth’s crust to produce clean, renewable energy. The DOE’s
objective is to promote the advancement and commercialization of
technologies for heat recovery with potentially lower environmental,
technical, and financial risks than methods currently available.

Triple-Flex™ Ultra-High Efficiency Boilers
Bryan Triple-Flex™ (patent pending) Ultra-High Efficiency Condensing
Boilers feature flexible stainless steel tubes, minimum thermal
efficiency of 90% with 160° return, 180° supply at 100% firing load.
Efficiencies of 99% are achievable with lower return water temperatures
as found in new building designs. Triple-Flex boilers fire at 3,000 MBH
input, with sub 30 PPM NOx utilizing a hybrid metal fiber 5:1 turndown
burner.
Triple-Flex boilers are suited to deliver the industry's highest
operating efficiencies up to 99% in new buildings designed for
condensing boiler conditions and better than 90% efficiency in retrofit
applications not designed for condensing boilers.
