Texas-Based South Plains College Introduces Performance Production to Students Via Midas Heritage 3000
South Plains College (Levelland, Texas) purchased a Midas Heritage 3000 mixing console through Miller Pro Audio (Lubbock, Texas). The school's commercial audio department prepares students for all aspects of live performance production, and wanted to bring the real world of sound mixing into the classroom with an industry-standard Heritage console. Aside from equipping these prospective sound professionals with a hands-on education in the art of sound reinforcement, the department's instructors also guide students through the nuances of mixing various styles of music, such as rock, jazz and country. Stardraw Control Beta 1 Available for Download
Software providers Stardraw.com have announced the availability of a Beta 1 version of its application, Stardraw Control. During the Beta test period, Stardraw invites manufacturers and systems specialists to become test partners in this new project. Mannheim Steamroller Heralds the Holidays With Mackie
Since 1974, Chip Davis and his group Mannheim Steamroller have navigated the electronic music world, emerging as one of the most public bands in new-age music. With the release of their first Christmas album in 1984, Mannheim Steamroller crossed over to mainstream critical acclaim. The success of last year's Christmas Celebration tour was another great victory for the group, and some of this success is owed to the artistic sound mixing of Rande Ferguson and the addition of a Mackie Digital X Bus console to the show's audio arsenal. Guitarist Robert Randolph & The Family Band Tour With Sennheiser Evolution 935 Mic
Currently performing as the opening act for Eric Clapton's 2004 Summer Tour are Robert Randolph & The Family Band. beyerdynamic, in association with White Radio LP, recently sponsored Holland's Drumbassadors (November 12-14, 2004) on their Drum Clinic tour of venues across Ontario and Quebec. This three-day festival attracted an audience of approximately 1,500 drummers and percussionists. JBL VerTec, Studio Berar Commemorate Creation of Serbian State
This year, Serbia marks the 200th anniversary since the start of the first Serbian uprising and the creation of a modern Serbian state. In commemoration, "Europe in Belgrade", a ceremonial concert, was recently staged in the concert hall at Belgrade's Sava Center to bring together many interpreters of classical music from throughout Europe. The Belgrade audience had an opportunity to listen to a diverse collection of artists of Serbian origin who have achieved international success on opera stages around the world. MORE
