From Mix's Daily News Service Universal Audio 2-610 Presents Number 1,000 Universal Audio (Santa Cruz, Calif.) presented chief analog designer John Hinson with the 1,000th 2-610 stereo tube microphone and instrument preamplifier. MORE Turbosound Appoints Sennheiser for U.S. Market Sennheiser Electronic Corporation (Old Lyme, Conn.) announced its appointment by Turbosound Ltd, the British-based manufacturer of live performance and installed-sound loudspeaker systems, as its exclusive distributor for the United States. The distribution agreement also covers selected Latin American territories including Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. MORE Royal National Theatre Signs Design Contract with Munro Associates Specialist studio building company Form & Funktion have signed a contract to build and install new recording facilities at the Royal National Theatre on London's South Bank. The contract for the new facilities' design was awarded to UK acoustic consultancy Munro Associates. The Munro team will work closely with Form & Funktion to transform space in the theater's basement into two production rooms and a live area, with audio and video tie lines to the three National Stages. Sonic Implants Symphonic String Collection netStudio Notes Meet netStudio member Joe Magic by Robb Scott, netStudio Support Joe Magic is a New York City-based producer, remixer and musician. His work is heard everywhere from Billboard-charted songs and dance remixes to backing tracks for Las Vegas Illusionists like Jonathan David Bass and Darren Romeo (Joe is a professional grade magician himself - hence the "Magic" appellation). Joe's been a supporter of the Rocket Network concept from the beginning. He's recently made the switch to Mix's netStudio, excited by the prospect of helping to break in new territory. Joe utilizes both public and private netStudio sessions. Public sessions are for "knocking heads" - meeting new pals and collaborators, and bouncing ideas around. Private sessions are used for commercial collaboration, often with remix partners. For instance, Joe will post MIDI tracks, allowing a client to audition a part with his or her choice of synth sounds. For Joe, Mix's netStudio is both a place to jam with friends and a serious professional audio tool. "I think Rocket has the potential to bring musicians together from all parts of the globe to make some really great music and change the way music is created," he says.
