Sony/Philips Choose ATC Loudspeakers for AES SACD Demo
ATC Loudspeakers (Gloucestershire, UK) has been chosen by Sony/Philips to provide a multichannel monitoring system for demonstrations of Super Audio CD (SACD) in Room 305 at AES 2002 in Los Angeles. Mackie HDR24/96 Cards
Mackie Designs announced two new add-on cards for its HDR24/96 digital recorder. The Serial*9 card (MSRP $299) allows the HDR24/96 to be controlled by various transports and timecode controllers via Sony 9-pin. The OPT*24 digital I/O card (MSRP $349) provides 24 channels of digital I/O. Mackie also released Version 1.3 of its hard disk recorder software to allow for compatibility with these new cards. MORE

Savannah College of Art and Design (Savannah, Ga.) has purchased $1.4 million worth of Avid equipment for its state-of-the-art media production facility for the fall 2002 quarter The sales consists of multiple Avid post-production solutions, including 330 seats of Avid Xpress DV Version 3.5 editing software, 12 Symphony high-end finishing systems, two Media Station systems, seven Meridien-based Media Composer editing systems and three Avid Unity MediaNetwork systems.
