Peavey PVi Series
Peavey has added to its PV Series with the powered PVi 8B (pictured) and PVi 4B mixers. These rugged mixers feature both XLR and 1/4-inch inputs on each channel, as well as rotary controls to adjust level, reverb, treble and bass (a single tone knob on the PVi 4B) and additional equalization on the master section. Power amplifier ratings are 150 watts RMS into 4 ohms on the PVi 8B and 100W RMS into 4 ohms on the PVi 4B. MORE

These amplifiers include six foot-switchable features Pre-Shape, the Trace Elliot tone-shaping tool; valve to add tube warmth and overdrive (12AX7/ECC83); a vintage 12-band Trace Elliot graphic equalizer; dual-band compressor with separate controls for high and low bands; an effects loop (highpass/lowpass/full-range outputs, left/right/mono returns, series/parallel switch, loop-level control); and an output mute that silences all outputs except the tuner out. Peavey Flies in AthFest
Peavey's Versarray was recently brought in for Athens, Ga.'s outdoor AthFest 2006, featuring the city's homegrown musicians and groups. "The Versarray is the best sound system we have ever had for our festival," says Jared Bailey, AthFest director. "I was amazed at how clear and clean the performers sounded, and it's so much more compact and easier to set up than traditional sound systems; that saved us a lot of time and labor." MORE

Creative Technology Beefs Up L-Acoustics Inventory
The Los Angeles office of Creative Technology (CT), an international provider of audio, video and staging solutions for corporate events, has significantly increased its arsenal of L-Acoustics products with the recent purchase of 68 dV-DOSC and 22 dV-SUB enclosures, as well as 32 LA Series amplifiers. This brings the provider's tally of L-Acoustics gear up to 80 dV-DOSC and 26 dV-SUB boxes, all powered by 10 full racks of LA amps. MORE
