TC Electronic Konnekt 24D
TC Electronic is now shipping its Konnekt 24D ($625) audio interface. The 14-in/14-out FireWire interface includes an onboard DSP chip that allows for TC Electronic's effects at every stage of recording. Konnekt 24D features two front panel inputs that combine TC Electronic's new IMPACT (Integrated Mic Preamp Circuit Technology) mic preamps for studio use with true hi-Z guitar inputs. SSL X-Rack Four-Channel Input, Master Bus
Solid State Logic announces two new modules for its X-Rack modular rack system: the Four-Channel Input ($925), a four mono line-input module, and the Master Bus ($1,110), a summing, metering and control room module. Both modules include SSL's Total Recall system for resetting parameters. The new line input and output modules give users the option of creating a fully independent modular mixing environment with an X-Rack system.MORE

Klein + Hummel O 300
Klein + Hummel introduced the O 300 ($2,495 each) triamplified, three-way near-field studio reference monitor at AES 2006 in San Francisco. The O 300 is said to deliver the same sound quality found in the company's O 300 D, minus the digital input and control hardware. MORE

1955 Glenn Gould Recording Restored
Yamaha and Zenph Studios teamed to create a performance and broadcast taping of Canadian pianist Glenn Gould's legendary 1955 rendition of Bach's Goldberg Variations. The taping took place on September 25 at the Canadian Broadcasting Company's Glenn Gould Studio and was engineered for the Sony BMG Masterworks label, the first commercial CD recording using Zenph Studios' software technology. APM Music Updates 'Monday Night Football' Theme Music
In late 2005, ESPN approached APM Music, a joint venture of EMI Music Publishing and BMG Music Publishing (a division of Bertelsmann AG), about creating a series of updates to the theme song for ESPN's Monday Night Football. The theme, titled "Heavy Action," was originally composed by Johnny Pearson and selected by ABC in 1971 for its Monday Night Football broadcast. In 1987, APM and ABC asked Edd Kalehoff to arrange an entirely new and updated recording of the song. MORE
