EAW's "Brains, Boxes & Beyond" (B3) is a series of
technology seminars throughout North America to provide in-depth
education to audio professionals. The curriculum for the one-day
intensive seminars was developed by EAW technical training manager

Jands Brings in Dolby Lake Processors Australia-based sound
rental company Jands Production Services (JPS) has made a significant
upgrade to its monitor systems, including the purchase of 12 Clair Bros.
Audio (CBA) custom Dolby Lake Processors. The units feature proprietary

New Zealand Company Adds Soundcraft A New Zealand--based
sound rental company has added its first Soundcraft Vi6 digital audio
console. Based in Auckland, College Hill has enjoyed a steep trajectory
of success since Chris Tate (pictured) founded the company in 1996. With
a strong presence on the national and international touring scene,
working recently with The Rolling Stones and Cher, College Hill also
provides high-end systems for corporate events and theater productions,
as well as working with radio and TV broadcasters in New Zealand. MORE
Sabine Comes Aboard The crew of the Nimitz-class aircraft
carrier USS John C. Stennis had been working for almost two months
straight without a day off when the commanders decided to give the crew
a full-scale party on July 4, 2006. The Chuck Alvarez Band featuring JR
Richards of the band Dishwalla got the call, along with comedians Dave
Mishevitz, Gary Brightwell, John Bizzare and Blake Clark, all part of

JBL Gets
Into Tweeter Center
Pro Sound Service has installed new JBL VerTec line arrays and AE Series
loudspeakers at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Mass. The Tweeter
Center is a 19,900-seat outdoor venue with a covered, roofed section of
about 7,500 seats with the balance in an open seating area. A wall at
the back of the seating area separates it from the community. MORE
Danley Sound Part of Sugarloaf Church Upgrade Sugarloaf
United Methodist Church (Duluth, Ga.) recently debuted new audio,
projection and video distribution systems installed by dB Audio & Video
(Gainesville, Ga.) in its new Community Life Building. Sugarloaf's
minister of worship arts, Larry Parker, worked with Ronnie Stanford,
systems advisor for dB, to create an A/V system that would serve the
space's multipurpose nature. MORE
EAW Performs in Playhouse The Bainbridge (Wash.) Performing
Arts Playhouse, a purpose-built live entertainment venue, recently
received a completely new sound reinforcement system designed and
installed by Flamingo Audio and featuring EAW NT

Russian University Invests in InnovaSon The RUK university
in Mytischi, just outside the Russian capital of Moscow, has recently
taken delivery of an InnovaSon Sy48 digital mixing console for its new
multipurpose venue. MORE
L-Acoustics Stays Up Late The Late Late Show With Craig
Ferguson recently completed a total renovation of its set at CBS
Television City in Los Angeles. The good news for musical guests
visiting Studio 58 is that there is now a larger performance area and an
improved monitor system, which benefits from a dozen new L-Acoustics
112XT and two 115XT stage wedges, all powered by the manufacturer's LA
Series amplifiers. MORE
Reich Season Marks Debut for Barbican's New Midas The
Barbican, Europe's largest multi-arts and conference venue, has invested
in a new 32-channel Midas Heritage 2000 console with 16-channel stretch,
all flight cased and fully mobile. The desk makes its major debut in the
main theater auditorium for the first shows in the special season
celebrating the work of American composer Steve Reich. During the Reich
festival, the console will also be used in the Pit Theater for other
