You might not need it right now, but someday you may need instrumental tracks for creating an extended dance mix, a karaoke release or as a background theme for video/film/TV/games production. An instrumental mix also provides some insurance in case the lead singer suddenly quits the band or you want to use the tracks later as demos with a singer of the opposite gender. Of course, those clever engineers who suggest a quick instrumental mix will surely be appreciated for their resourceful attitude, and over an entire album project, it only adds a couple hours to the studio billing, which the owner will appreciate. In The Field London's new musical, The Full Monty, opened on March 12 at the Prince of Wales Theatre, featuring sound design by Mike Walker.
