Broadjam Releases MetaJam for Mac
The Mac version of MetaJam allows musicians to wrap metadata around their digital songs or music tracks so that catalog searches on genre, subject matter and production style can be easily conducted. The software then uploads the song data and audio files, synchronizing with Broadjam's music search engine. MORE

Amp Announces Call for Entries for 2003 National Mixer of the Year
The Association of Music Producers (AMP) announced a call for entries for the 2003 Mixer of the Year Award, which will be presented in Los Angeles in March at a special evening event to be hosted by AMP. This award celebrates the talents of a post-production audio mixer for television commercials and recognizes their important role in the success of a TV commercial. The December 4 meeting of the Los Angeles Pro Tools Users Group was a huge success with the Avid/Digidesign demonstration of new tools for post-production. The next meeting is provisionally planned for January 20, 2004, at 7.30 p.m. The meeting will be co-hosted by Sony Plug-Ins, where the company will be talking about its new Pro Tools Reverb and EQ Plug-Ins, which will be launched at the upcoming NAMM show. There will also be an opportunity to catch up on all the other new product updates and announcements from the show. The Yamaha Commercial Audio Division has been conducting PM1D digital audio mixing system schools through the U.S. The free two-day class teaches the basic operation of the PM1d system and its use in various applications.
