QSC Takes Training to Europe
QSC applications engineer Bob Lee and systems engineering supervisor Cheryl Guyse recently visited Europe to train technicians in the UK, France and Germany. The classes conducted by Lee and Guyse stretched anywhere in length from two-and-a-half to three days in each location, with instruction divvied up into three distinct sections covering basic amplifier technology, advanced circuitry studies and digital products. Two to three technicians received training at each stop; once training is complete, each trainee received an official factory-certified skills. MORE

L-Acoustics U.S. Presents Founding Network Owner Awards
L-Acoustics U.S. recently presented a number of production companies and venues with a special plaque designating them with the status of "Founding Network Owner." Meyer Sound, DiGiCo Share New Nashville Office, Plan Open House
Meyer Sound and DiGiCo are opening a shared office in Nashville that will focus specifically on serving the needs of the touring industry throughout North America. The office is located inside Nashville's Soundcheck rehearsal facility. Meyer Sound's business will be anchored there by tour liaison Buford Jones, a veteran front-of-house engineer whose credits include Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, James Taylor and Faith Hill. Greg McVeigh, Meyer Sound's VP of sales and special projects, will also be in regular attendance. Eric Wade, president of DiGiCo U.S., and Taidus Vallandi (technical sales) will spearhead DiGiCo's presence at the facility. MORE

Edge Audio of Chicago has chosen NEXO's GEO technology for its flagship rig, bringing in 16 GEO S805 and two S830 compact, high-output full-range loudspeakers that can be combined in horizontal or curved vertical arrays, supplemented by six CD12 sub-bass units. Carnegie Hall Takes Delivery of First Yamaha PM5000
Yamaha Commercial Audio announced the delivery of the first PM5000 mixing console to New York's Carnegie Hall for use in the newly opened Judy and Arthur Zankel Hall. Set up in "black box" style and located under the main structure, the 650-seat venue serves as a multipurpose facility dedicated to nontraditional productions, modern and experimental music, performance arts, private parties and banquets. Now a popular venue for product launches and functions, Hangar One is a converted World War II aircraft hangar at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire,, England.
