Veteran news anchor Tawny Little will MC the House Ear Institute's 26th Annual Benefit Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel's International Ballroom on March 18, 2004, an event that raises funds for important hearing health research and children's programs at the House Ear Institute (HEI). It will begin at 5 p.m., with the "Hollywood Auction for Hearing Health" at 5:30 p.m. and a reception at 6:30 p.m.; dinner and the evening's program will begin at 7:30 p.m. The institute will recognize philanthropist Robert H. Primera Technology Bravo II
Primera Technology's Bravo II is designed for hands-free, automated production of up to 25 CDs or DVDs per job (50 discs with kiosk mode). An advanced robotic mechanism transports discs into the built-in 52x CD-R recorder or optional Pioneer combo DVD-R/CD-R recorder (records DVD-Rs at 8x and CD-Rs at 24x). After recording, discs are transported to the integrated printer and printed in full color directly onto the surface of the disc. MORE

Korg CR-4
Korg debuted a 4-track, cassette-based recording system, the CR-4, which includes amp and effects models, a built-in 5-watt stereo amplifier and a pair of 8cm speakers that allow the user to monitor an in-progress recording. Klipsch Files Suit Against Multiple Internet Sales Violators
Klipsch Audio Technologies has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana against companies operating the following Internet sites: crazyeddie.com, 50TopSellers.com, AuthorizedElectronics.com, TheBestPriceStore.com and HomeTheaterPhiles.com. Klipsch is seeking recovery of damages and an injunction to prevent the defendants from inducing authorized dealers to trans-ship Klipsch products, interfering with the contractual relationships between Klipsch and its authorized dealers, infringing on Klipsch trademarks and illegally using Klipsch's copyrighted materials. The National Association of Broadcasters announced the winners of its Engineering Achievement Awards. The 2004 Broadway Lighting Master Classes (BLMC) and Broadway Sound Master Classes (BSMC) will be held at John Jay College Auditorium in New York City in June. From March 31, 2004, to April 3, 2004, more than 75,000 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors will be in Frankfurt, Germany, for Musikmesse and Prolight+Sound 2004. This is the last chance to lock in a booth for the show, as a few spaces are still available. Musikmesse offers a convenient turnkey package allowing exhibitors to completely focus on meeting the worldwide dealers, buyers and distributors that attend this truly international event. Disc Makers is kicking off the latest installment of its Independent Music World Series (IMWS). The Midwest showcase finals will be held in Chicago at the Elbo Room on May 13, 2004, and will feature the top six acts as selected by Billboard magazine performing for $35,000 in music gear and prizes. Bands and artists can log onto discmakers.com/imws to register and find out more information about the IMWS. The competition is open to all musicians not currently signed to a major record label and to all styles and genres of music. To be eligible, at least one bandmember must reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North or South Dakotas, Oklahoma or Wisconsin. Submissions must be postmarked by March 11, 2004.

Entries for the 2004 USA Songwriting Competition are currently being accepted until May 28, 2004. Winning songs will receive airplay on nationally syndicated radio program ""Acoustic Café" and XM Radio, as well as $50,000 worth in cash, merchandise and exposure.
