Digidesign, a division of Avid Technology Inc., announced plans to enter the sound reinforcement market with a new digital mixing console system aimed for use in tours, theatrical productions, corporate installations and houses of worship. The system will feature high-fidelity audio and a recording and playback pathway to Digidesign's Pro Tools digital audio workstation. MORE

According to Brad Snow, president of SR company/dealer Snow Sound in Berlin, Conn., "Before Pratt &Whitney [East Hartford, Conn.] had turned one of its hangars into a museum, we had brought in an L-Acoustics dV-DOSC system to provide speech reinforcement and musical playback for an event. Although the room was a very hostile acoustical environment, the system worked extremely well and the client, who had previously heard a number of other systems in there, was very impressed." MORE
