Optogate PB-05

Blick Named National Sales Manager for Studer USA
Studer recently appointed Clayton Blick as its national sales manager. Based just outside of New York City, Blick is now overseeing all aspects of Studer's domestic sales efforts on a daily operations basis; Harman Pro North America is actively recruiting further members for the Studer USA sales team. Blick will initially focus his main sales activities on the Eastern half of the country, with a Western region sales manager to be appointed shortly. MORE

BiCoastal Brings in SymNet Control
Recently, Johnson Knowles, resident technical guru at the Dallas-based Russ Berger Design Group (RBDG), integrated SymNet into BiCoastal Music (Ossining, N.Y.), to operate as the 5.1 monitor system controller. RBDG designed the new studio last year (which features an SSL C200 fully digital mixing console) and is now open for business. MORE

NMT Adds to HDTV Mobile Fleet
National Mobile Television is building two new high-definition television (HDTV) mobile units this year, with the first set to roll out now. NMT will add three more HD units for use in 2005, raising the number of HDTV mobile units in the company's fleet to 10 out of 47. The two new trucks will initially be used for Fox Sport's NFL games this coming fall and other HD events during the rest of the year. MORE

Final Stage Mastering Preps for SACD With SADiE
Nashville-based audio mastering facility Final Stage Mastering has purchased a new SADiE DSD8 multichannel digital audio workstation. The system, delivered in December 2003, will share space with an existing SADiE 24/96 at the facility before it becomes the centerpiece of a new mastering suite, designed by Chris Huston, planned for later this year. Genelec Brought Into Young Avenue Sound
Young Avenue Sound, the recording and production division of Memphis Records, has added a new pair of Genelec 1037C tri-amplified active monitors and Genelec 7071A active subwoofer. Opened December 15, 2003, the studios at Young Avenue Sound were designed by Alan Stewart, a former associate of studio designer Tom Hidley. The Genelec monitoring system was installed and acoustically calibrated by Bruce Bartone, national sales manager of Genelec, following the sale by Frank Conway of dealer Audio One's Nashville office and Jeff Mac, principal of regional rep firm Techrep Marketing. Shaw Brothers Add Euphonix System 5s to Movie City Project
Film company The Shaw Brothers, which founded Hong Kong's movie industry and is a major shareholder of the Hong Kong Movie City Project (state-of-the-art audio post facilities), has chosen Euphonix to supply eight System 5 digital audio mixing systems. The new 100,000-plus-square-meter complex, which is currently under construction, will feature full service audio post services including an ADR/Foley stage, a scoring studio, eight audio post mix rooms, a 5.1 dubbing suite and a full feature-film 400-seat dubbing theater. CRAS Upgrades to Pro Tools|HD
In addition to upgrading its Pro Tools labs, studios and mobile rigs to Pro Tools|HD, the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (Gilbert, Ariz.) has created eight mobile Pro Tools LE rigs using the new Digi 002 Rack FireWire interface. MORE
