Telepresence: Communication Via AV/IT

by Cynthia Wisehart
Telepresence is calling. Kevin Kelly, President and COO for value-added AV distributor Stampede is candid that the dealers he supports are changing their businesses in the face of a long recession. They’re looking at new opportunities, or more accurately responding better to existing ones. Some of the telepresence opportunities are longer range—the Telework Enhancement Law of 2010 and the rise of telemedicine should translate to demand in government and healthcare markets. But closer to home for many of Stampede’s dealers is the simple expectation that corporate board rooms will have a video conferencing capability. That’s already part of everyday reality. more>>

This Year's Ministry of Technology Expo Features Danley Loudspeakers

Held this year at Faith Assembly of God in Fort Myers, Florida in late March, The Ministry of Technology Expo (MOTX) is not a conventional convention. Although patterned after the established A/V technologies meetings, MOTX is designed to bring manufacturers, designers, and installers together with house of worship end-users, including pastors, worship leaders, technical staff and volunteers. To achieve that goal, the registration and exhibition fees for MOTX are, and will forever be, affordable on any budget ($0.00 to be exact), and exhibitors and educators are cleanly separated to avoid any conflict of interest in trainings. Danley Sound Labs’ Florida representative Bencsik Associates brought a modest but representative collection of Danley’s revolutionary full-range and subwoofer technologies for the MOTX attendees to experience first-hand. more>>
